Supplemental Education Services, also known as SES, is a program to provide free reading and math tutoring to eligible elementary and middle school students. Under the No Child Left Behind Act, many children are eligible for free SES tutoring services, valued at up to $2,000.
After School Programs, Inc. has been providing high quality SES tutoring services since 2006, and is currently providing SES tutoring to thousands of eligible elementary and middle school students attending Title I schools.
ASP is an SES approved provider by the State Departments of Education in California, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia. ASP Curriculum for each state we serve is specifically designed to meet the State Standards and the Common Core Standards in Reading/Language Arts and Mathematics.
Our professional team of educators collaborates with your administrators, parents, and classroom teachers to create a nurturing environment in which to provide turnkey tutoring services for all students. The length and frequency of tutoring sessions are designed to meet your site needs.
Our interactive instructional model provides extensive opportunities for students to actively engage in learning, express what they know, and receive feedback.
Statistical evidence demonstrates that ASP SES tutoring has a positive effect on student achievement for all students, including ELL and SWD’s. ASP students have made substantial learning gains in reading and mathematics as evidenced in the record of effectiveness included in your state - approved application.
Clearly written and organized Progress Reports are provided monthly to all stakeholders in the parents’ native language. Communication with all stakeholders is ongoing.
The Achieve Standards–Based Test is utilized as the formal pre and post test to set goals and measure growth in reading/language arts and mathematics. Additional formative and summative assessments are administered throughout the program so that learning paths can be adjusted as necessary to help students meet their goals.
Qualitative and quantitative data is utilized to develop learning plans for all students, including English Language Learners and Students with Special Needs.
Tutors begin each session by providing direct, explicit instruction. After the concept has been taught, students are provided ample time and opportunities for guided and independent practice. Research-based curriculum materials support tutors and students with a focused instructional path.
